RACING FLAG COLORS
AND THEIR MEANING
GREEN:
Start - The Race, qualification attempt or practice session is started.
YELLOW:
Caution - Signals hazardous condition on the track. During practice or the race drivers shall reduce speed immediately and maintain position and yield to track safety vehicles.
ROYAL BLUE w/ ORANGE STRIPE:
The passing flag - A lapping Driver is attempting to pass. The slower Driver is instructed to yield to faster traffic.
BLACK:
The Driver shall proceed to the pits on the next lap and follow the instructions of the Officials.
BLACK w/ WHITE CROSS:
The Officials have ceased scoring the Car until further notice.
RED:
Stop - The Race, qualification or practice session immediately regardless of position of cars on the track.
WHITE:
The leader has started the final lap of the race. During qualifications, this signals that driver has started final lap of qualification.
CHECKERED:
The Race, qualification attempt or practice is completed. The race leader is declared the winner. |
